Dear Gary,

On behalf of Bethlehem United Methodist Church, I extend my heartfelt thanks for all your work in arranging for Dan to be guest organist for our Dedication Recital and Workshop.

All through the organ acquisition process, you have been indispensable in shepherding us along. We very much appreciate your availability to answer questions and be with us for formal meetings and for occasions when your expertise was needed. We are grateful for your communication with Rodgers to assure that we received our organ in time for Christmas services.

Thank you very much for assisting with publicity and assisting with the preparation of workshop materials and recital programs.

Dan's concert on Sunday was a wonderful blessing. Through a variety of pieces, he displayed the diversity of organ repertoire and treated us to countless nuanced organ sounds, from gently subdued to grandiose; from sober to whimsical. Dan's depth of expressiveness, creativity, technical mastery, and sincere faith touched us deeply.

I'm sure there are numerous other tasks that you undertook leading up to the weekend's events. All your contributions are truly appreciated. God bless you.

With sincere gratitude,

Randi Paul

Dear Gary,

Thank you so much for being such a special part of our organ dedication service. Your expertise is evident, yet you give it with such humility and with a spirit of serving. My dad commented on how much he enjoyed your demonstration of what the organ can do and the spirit with which you did it. I feel like there is so much I can learn from you; I know your time is extremely limited and busy, but please call if you’re in the area and feel up to some more questions about registration, electronics, etc.

We really appreciate all the time you’ve given us-and most recently, this time spent way up in to the wee hours of a Sunday morning. Your music was beautiful and your knowledge of this instrument, complete. As I said too, you articulate that knowledge to others so well.

Again thanks so much for all you brought to this service- and hope we see you again before too long!

Dear Gary,

I want to say a special thank you for all the time and concern you put in at Cooks Creek. You were certainly dedicated to making every matter perfect.

As former chair person for the worship committee, our endeavor for a new organ was a careful one. After listening to your presentation and hearing the organ, we know our prayer’s had been heard. The placement of the speakers was an area that concerned us….but you presented us with just the right desing and color….and perfect placement.

The organ sounds so much like a pipe organ. Being a choir member, I only hear it from the balcony, but so many people form our congregations have praised the sound and quality performance our organ gives.

Thank you again. It has been a pleasure working with you and meeting you.

Dear Gary,

We at Auburn United Methodist Church, as well as Pat and I, are very proud of our new organ and wish to thank you for enabling us to have it installed in time for our spring concert.

The Hall family, that made our purchase possible, is very pleased with the organ.

It has been a pleasure to work with you and we wish you well in your future endeavors. Please give our best to Dennis and tell him he is always in our prayers. God Bless you and yours.

Dear Gary,

I want to add an additional thank you for the great work Sunday and for taking the time to explain some technical points about the module. We are so filled with pride about the organ, and you ably showed how much more one could get out of it. When playing and listening, it’s hard to believe it’s not a 150-rank pipe organ in a large church.

Please feel free to use me for a reference about Rodgers in the future. Incidentally, you should be hearing soon from the committee at Spring Hill Presbyterian about their interest in an organ.

Also, please keep us in mind of there are any notable organists to be in these parts in the future so that we might schedule a visit and recital. We plan to get a lot of use out of this instrument!

Dear Gary,

Thank you so very much for giving of your time and talent to play at our organ dedication. You played some of my very favorite pieces, and I really enjoyed listening to your enjoyable renditions. I loved the guitar on Canon in D.

Thanks also for helping us find and properly install this wonderful sounding organ. As Mary Dodd says, it sounds good even if you play with just one finger. With grateful appreciation.

Dear Gary,

On behalf of the Session and the congregation of Covenant Presbyterian Church, we wish to extend to you a heart-felt thank you for your tireless efforts assisting Covenant in the procurement of your organ and keyboard; and especially for you powerful display of talent during our Dedication Service.

It has been a pleasure working with you, and we want you to know that Covenant will always welcome your return for a visit.

Dear Gary,

Many thanks for playing so beautifully for the funeral service for Margaret Turner, and on short notice!

And let me say a bigger thanks for all your work installing our new organ. I am very pleased and excited about it, and it is serving us well.

Here is an honorarium for your help. I hope it is sufficient.

Dear Gary,

Carl and I want to thank you for the most inspiring organ recital yesterday afternoon. It was truly a ‘soul food’ occasion. The community was so fortunate to have you come to show to us the possibilities of the organ. It was a privilege to see you and your lovely wife again.

In our conversation at the reception, you asked about my favorite of the musical selections. My reply was the second Bach composition. It was one of my chosen ones. “It is Well With My Soul” was so majestic, and really stirred my emotions. The Trumpet Tune is a favorite of mine also. They were all so beautifully rendered that it is difficult to choose a number one.

Those of us at Elk Creek who were fortunate to get acquainted with you and your wife feel very fortunate that our paths have crossed. May the future hold only the best for your and yours.

Dear Gary,

Didn’t get a chance to say how much I enjoyed the dedication service. The organ sounds wonderful and you are so talented. I enjoyed your choices, especially the first two and the trumpet one. What a fantastic job! Second Presbyterian made a good choice on an instrument. It is a fine organ.
